Agree with fishonatic, I have been using a prokat 13ft ever since I started surf casting and for its price I am really astonished by its strength and versatility. After close to 1 years + now I still use it and love it Cheers

That is a good rod too, but expect to pay double or triple the price of a prokat. Good place to find both rods is siow chiang at ubi. Another thing to note with penn rods is the weight, which you must get accustomed to. Most importantly of all is how you feel about the rod If you don't get one that you are comfortable with, you will lose interest very fast. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Well, with your budget you could try looking at zziplex or century rods. Could go and check out siow chiang at ubi, they have quite a few century rods stocked up there. Other than that i dont think i can advise much more. Need some, more experienced members to advise you further as i have no experience with those rods thus far. Btw, thats a nice reel Cheers

Think what you could do is take a trip down to tampines field (Padang) and get advice from the usuals there. They are the best people to consult regarding zziplex and century rods ! If you need the contacts, you can drop me a pm or even better try and pm bruderY. Best Regards, ahwin

I'm using sealine 30 and I pair it with franklin and loomis big game 13 ft. I use this rod cos it is three pieces so its easier to transport. but I am not a caster so this rod is suitable for me.
But I have tried the century rod 12 ft . I must said I like it as it is quite stiff on the tip and make casting fairly easy.
If i will to choose again and have the budget I will go for century rod..
hope you find the rod you like.
cheers
