Hi, I highly recommend this rig for surf fishing during strong current flow area. I found it very effective n most of my catchs come from this rig. Its design to keep the bait at the bottom of the seabed to target all bottom feeder fish like stingray, grouper, snapper, bream, eel, catfish and many more. The long snood with move about with the strong current n it will make your bait look alive n attractive.

I will be at BJT on most of friday night until 2am in the morning. And Saturday morning 7.30am to 10.30am. The latest monster landed here is the 30kg Shovel nose shark caught on my friend rod few months back. It took me n him about 45 minute to land it. Two gaff was used to bring it up. And yes this monster was caught on this bottom feeder rig. To land a monster you need good tackle, luck, skill n stamina plus gut to fight it out. Just to let you know. If you happen to hook up a monster, there are not many angler dare to take your rod n help to fight it. Expecially if it a really big one. Haha...Here the photo....

Best is use 50lbs to 100lbs. It all up to individual choice.

For tying the rig, maybe you can join us on our coming gathering. Look out on the surf section. Or come down to bedok jetty on a saturday morning before 10.30 to look for me. As for your rod n reel, its ok for that pair. But to enjoy the fishing, best is match it with a softer rod. If the rod is too stiff, you feel nothing when winding back a fish. :goodluck:

Bro, do you have an illustration on the "secure knot" mentioned here?
